Andersen Racing's Kart Team
Posts Top-10 in Initial Event

PALMETTO, Fla., Jan. 6
- Andersen Racing's brand-new professional karting
team began building both for the new year and the future by participating in the
Daytona Kart Week World Karting Association (WKA) event Dec. 27-30 at Daytona
International Speedway. The Palmetto, Fla.-based team competed in the TaG
division that was part of the Margay Sprint Championships, utilizing the 7/10-mile
sprint circuit set up just inside NASCAR Turns 3 and 4 at the famous track in
Daytona Beach, Fla.

Tyler Schule of St. Petersburg, Fla. posted the best results for the team
when he finished tenth in the 18-lap TaG Final on Tuesday. Driving a Kosmic
kart, he was forced to the grass to avoid being involved in a multi-kart accident
during the race. That dropped him to around 18th position, but he battled
back for the top-10 finish despite the intense competition.

Schule qualified 14th that day with a lap in 41.507 seconds.

On Monday he qualified 32nd with a time of 42.310; finished fifth in the
six-lap last-chance qualifier (LCQ), and placed 22nd in the eight-lap pre-final.
He started 22nd in Monday's 18-lap main event and finished 12th.

Another Andersen Racing driver, Keith Spicer of Naples, Fla., was involved in
that same multi-car Turn 1 accident in Tuesday's TaG Final that caused Schule
problems. He was able to recover too, and then quickly found himself battling
several other top drivers, include NASCAR star Jamie McMurray of Roush Fenway
Racing. Spicer ran out of time and was in 13th position when the checkered
waved, or it would have been a double top-10 for Andersen Racing.

Earlier in the day he qualified sixth with a lap in 41.188. Spicer had
trimmed four-tenths of a second off his qualifying time from Monday, which was a
41.596 that was good enough for ninth place that day. His Kosmic kart developed a
carburetor problem in that day's final event, however, so he finished back in
the field that day.

The event was the first WKA race ever for 17-year-old Tim Bambu of Sebring,
Fla., who drove a CRG kart fielded by the team. He didn't make the final
either day, but he gained valuable experience that will help him during the
upcoming Florida Winter Tour.

Bambu qualified 39th on Monday with a time of 42.630 seconds. He started
25th in the last-chance qualifier and got up to about 18th place in that event.

He started the week by qualifying 31st on Monday with a time of 43.918
seconds. He started 28th in the last-chance qualifier that day, and finished
mid-pack.
